What are glass cover slips?

Glass cover slips are thin squares of glass strips placed over the specimen on a slide. A glass cover slip flattens the liquid specimen making it thin enough to be viewed closely.

Glass cover slips are very thin and fragile and should be handled with the utmost care, they break easily. Glass cover slips come in two sizes; 18 and 20 mm squares. There is also two thickness types. If treated with care, they can be reused a couple of times.
